I grew up in Northern Virginia as the oldest of three girls and knew very early in life that I wanted to become a doctor. I was fortunate to have excellent role models – my father was a physician and my mother was a nurse. I called North Carolina my home for a decade, attending Duke University, then University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill Medical School. I graduated with degrees in psychology, French and medicine and became a huge ACC basketball fan in the process. Go Blue Devils! I have lived in Denver for more than 20 years now, initially training in OB-GYN, then switching to pediatrics, completing my residency training at Children's Hospital Colorado. I also completed additional fellowship training in adolescent medicine.
I love pediatrics because I enjoy taking care of children across their lifespan, focusing on preventive care, and helping entire families. The variety of care I provide within the course of a day is stimulating and very rewarding. Whether it be providing health care for a newborn with jaundice, a toddler with a cough, a school-aged child with mental health needs or a teen who needs birth control, I love it all!
I have three beautiful children who make me smile every day, and I feel enormous gratitude for their presence in my life and all that they teach me. I practice yoga, meditate, and enjoy traveling, horseback riding and off-roading in our beautiful state.
