My gender: Female
Where I practice
I am from Washington State. I was stationed in Colorado Springs at Peterson AFB in 1994. I was active duty in the Air Force for four years. While on active duty I worked in Public Health. In 2000 I joined the Wyoming National Guard where I worked as an Air Evacuation Medic on the C130 aircrafts. I am married with four kids, two dogs, and a horse.
I have always had an interest in health care since I was a teen. I couldn't imagine doing anything else. I decided to become a PA because of the experience I have had with PAs while in the Air Force. The most rewarding part of being a PA is getting to know my patients and learning from their experiences.
About my practice
I chose primary care for the variety. I enjoy seeing all ages and conditions from acute to chronic. My background is strong in urgent care and emergency medicine which I did for ten years prior to joining Kaiser Permanente. Electronic medical records help me to see the big picture of a patient's health, so I can make good use of our time together and answer my patient's questions. I always try to treat each and every patient as if they were my family member. My goal is to provide the most appropriate care for my patients, so they aren't spending extra time or money to get the care they deserve. I like to involve them in coming up with a treatment plan that fits their needs.
How I thrive
I love spending time with my family in the outdoors. We love camping and biking during the summer months and skiing during the winter months. We travel whenever we can. We try to make it out to the Oregon Coast at least one time every year.
