Where I practice
I grew up in Iowa City, Iowa. I started college with the goal of attending medical school and never looked back. I received a B.S. in Microbiology from the University of Iowa in 1995 and graduated from the University of Iowa College of Medicine in 1999. In medical school, Ob/Gyn was a natural fit for me. I completed my residency training in Ob/Gyn at the University of Colorado Health Science Center in 2003. I fell in love with the cultural and outdoor activities that Colorado had to offer and decided to make it my permanent home. I worked in Longmont in private practice from 2003 to 2009 before joining Kaiser Permanente’s Westminster Medical Offices. In 2013, I made the move to be an Ob/Gyn hospitalist at Good Samaritan Medical Center. I love my hospital-focused work and feel like I have found my calling!
About my practice
I am currently practicing medicine as an Ob/Gyn hospitalist (I see patients in the hospital only) at Good Samaritan Medical Center in Lafayette, Colorado. I provide care on labor and delivery and see patients in the hospital after delivery. I also provide consultative services for the emergency room and perform emergent gynecologic surgical services. I embrace the idea of patient-centered care. I try to really listen to your needs and concerns and offer you options so that you may participate in deciding on your plan of care. I maintain open communication with both my patients and the care team so that everyone understands what is happening and why.
How I thrive
I thrive by spending time in the mountains skiing, snowshoeing and hiking. I love gourmet cooking and travel. I spend as much time as I can with family and friends. I try to live a life that has a good balance of work and play!
