Where I practice
I am a Colorado native and grew up in Colorado Springs. I moved to the East Coast to attend college and medical school at Brown University in Rhode Island, then moved back across the country to Seattle to complete my pediatric residency at Seattle Children's Hospital with the University of Washington. I spent 6 great years working on the Navajo reservation with the Indian Health Service before I returned to Colorado in 2014 to live closer to my family and work with the Colorado Permanente Medical Group. I have 1 son in preschool. I knew I wanted to be a pediatrician at a young age and feel very lucky to have been called to a career I love.
About my practice
As a general pediatrician, I enjoy taking care of infants, children and adolescents. My favorite part of pediatrics is getting to know families and partnering with them to care for their children as they grow and develop, when they are sick and when they are well. I strive to be a resource for parents as they navigate the joys and challenges of raising healthy, happy children, and for children and adolescents as they learn to make healthy choices and manage their own health. I practice evidence-based medicine and recommend immunizations and preventive care to keep children healthy. I work part-time in the medical office to allow time for population health work to improve pediatric cardiovascular health and for being a mom.
How I thrive
I thrive doing work I enjoy and spending time with my son. He amazes me with his imagination and how quickly he is growing and learning new skills. I take care of myself by practicing yoga, knitting, reading and biking. As my son is getting older, we enjoy spending time hiking, skiing and traveling.
