I am originally from Littleton, Colorado, and joined the Army after graduating from Columbine High School. I served for four years in Germany, Bosnia, and Texas as a Combat Medic, where I truly became interested in the field of medicine. I then returned to my home state to attend the University of Colorado at Boulder for my undergraduate studies. Following this, I went to the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center in Denver for medical school, then completed residency at Swedish Medical Center in Englewood, Colorado.I received the Health Professional Scholarship from the U.S. Navy and served upon the U.S.S. Harry S Truman as the ship’s physician in support of operations in Afghanistan and Iraq. From there, I transferred to Naval Hospital 29 Palms as a full spectrum family physician, caring for the veterans and families of our service members. I missed the mountains and outdoor activities I enjoyed for most of my life, and decided to return to Colorado and practice at Kaiser Permanente.
I believe in patients learning about their own bodies and encourage them to make the best educated decisions about their healthcare, relying upon time-tested and up-to-date evidence based medicine. I am focused on preventive medicine, caring for the entire patient by utilizing the support and interaction and an entire team to provide the best care for my patients. I chose Family Medicine as my specialty as I enjoy caring for the entire spectrum of medicine as well as forging strong relationships with my patients and their families.
The balance between my work and personal time is very important, as spending time with my family is priceless. In my free time, I enjoy hiking, snowboarding, snowshoeing, camping, volleyball, working out in the gym, and ice hockey.
