Where I practice
I moved to Colorado from Pennsylvania after completing medical school at the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine. I completed my internship and residency in Denver. I joined Kaiser Permanente shortly thereafter and I have been practicing hospital medicine for 20 years. I have always been interested in health and wellness. Prior to attending medical school, I was an exercise physiologist in a cardiac rehabilitation program. The most rewarding aspect of being a physician is taking care of patients who are ill, returning them to health and wellness, and making a positive impact in their life.
About my practice
My practice is limited to inpatient hospital medicine. This allows me to care for adult patients with an acute medical illness that requires hospitalization. As a physician, it is important for me to listen to you and to understand your concerns, lifestyle and environment. I strive to take care of the “whole person” and not just your presenting symptoms. My goal is to help you recover from your illness and improve your quality of life by providing education to you and your family members about your illness. I will discuss goals of care and help you make the best decisions regarding your health care. I work with a great team of internal medicine physicians who act as your primary physician 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, while you are in the hospital. We collaborate with medical and surgical specialists as needed, along with pharmacists, therapists and nursing staff. When you are discharged from the hospital, your primary care physician receives a comprehensive summary of your hospital stay. We also help coordinate your outpatient follow-up plan.
How I thrive
I love Colorado and all that the state has to offer. I thrive by spending time with my family and staying active. I enjoy snow and water skiing, swimming, music, travel, attending concerts and Colorado Rockies games.
