Where I practice
In 2011, I drove from Illinois to Denver with my two dogs and the goal of completing a master of social work at the University of Denver. I completed this degree and subsequently earned my certification as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW). I have since been privileged to work in a variety of settings, always focused on supporting others in the ways they need and choose. I focus on this passion every day.
About my practice
Populations: Adult, Child, Family, Group, Seniors, Teens. Specialties: ADD/ADHD, Anxiety, Bipolar, Depression, Eating Disorders, Grief and Loss, Mood Disorders, OCD, Parenting, Personality Disorders, PTSD, Schizophrenia, Substance Abuse, Transgender, Trauma, and other chronic conditions. Interventions: CBT, DBT, EMDR, and ERP. I am excited to work as a Pediatric Qualified Therapist at our Hidden Lake Behavioral Health Department. This role affords me the opportunity to work with a caring and effective team. It also provides the incredible privilege of meeting and learning from dynamic and engaging clients as they identify and reach their goals. Above all else, my approach can be descripted as person-centered and rooted in a humanistic philosophy. Because I am a LCSW, I work with those 65 and older – and thoroughly enjoy that opportunity.
How I thrive
I thrive outside of work by spending time with and focusing on friends and family. My family of course includes my 4 dogs and 2 cats! I also enjoy taking time for myself by spending time reading – a lot of young adult fiction I became hooked on while teaching middle school years ago – and practicing expression through art. I particularly love Zentangles and art that makes a mess like working with charcoals and ceramics.
