Where I practice
I was born and raised in Littleton, Colorado. I completed medical school at the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center and then earned a Master of Public Health at Emory University in behavioral sciences and health education. I completed my psychiatry residency and child psychiatry fellowship at the University of Iowa and served as a clinical faculty member for 7 years prior to joining Kaiser Permanente. I returned to Colorado to be closer to my family. In my free time, I enjoy SCUBA diving, walks with my 2 dogs, and spending time with my wife and son. Over the years, it has been very rewarding to work with my patients to help them overcome many challenges.
About my practice
I see children and young adults with all types of mental illness. I enjoy working with the patient and their family or support system to maximize their care. I believe that education about mental health issues is critical to the care of a person, and I enjoy answering questions that you may have. I have significant experience in the treatment of mood disorders, anxiety disorders, PTSD, OCD, ADHD, and disruptive behaviors. I use analogies and common language to explain complex illnesses in an understandable and relatable way. I look forward to getting to know my patients, providing education about the illnesses that we will be treating, and helping improve your symptoms.
How I thrive
I love being a psychiatrist and feel energized working with patients and their support systems. My family is very important to me and I love traveling with them. I also enjoy SCUBA diving and have visited many different parts of the world.
