Diane M. Winters, MD

My gender: Female
Where I practice
I grew up in Ohio and was the first person in my extended family to go into medicine. I received my medical degree at The University of California, Irvine, where I was exposed to many different ethnicities and cultures. I was immediately attracted to the field of women's medicine and love the variety of obstetrical care, office based practice, and surgery that Obstetrics and Gynecology (Ob/Gyn) provides. I completed my Ob/Gyn residency training at The University of Colorado Health Sciences Center, where I also met my wonderful husband.
About my practice
I began my career in private practice in Reno, NV, and enjoyed developing patient relationships. I made the decision to come to Kaiser Permanente Colorado because I was really searching to preserve the ability to provide comprehensive, quality preventative, and medical care to women. I enjoy caring for women at all stages of life, through their teenage years all the way through the transition of menopause and beyond. I really enjoy educating patients and empowering them to take an active role in their health and well being. I love the integrated health care system and appreciate the thoroughness the computerized medical record provides, and the ease at which I can communicate with patients through My Health Manager when we cannot be face to face.My home office is Rock Creek Medical Offices. Additionally, I see patients at the Frisco Medical Offices.
How I thrive
As with most women, it is a daily challenge to balance work, health, and home. I have two awesome daughters, and my husband and I try to stay present and have fun when we’re all together. I love traveling, spending time in the mountains, hiking, cycling, and just about any outdoor activity! I find balance in yoga, good conversation and laughter shared with friends and family, and just trying to keep the bigger picture and greater good in mind.
