I was born in Buffalo, New York, in the winter. My family moved to the Chicago area when I was three and when I was 10 we moved to Denver. When I was seven, I wrote a medical "book" (highly plagiarized from the How and Why Wonder Book of the Human Body) and thus launched my medical career. I have always been fascinated by how the body works and the wonder that it is. I am also intrigued by why things go wrong with us and thus the focus on medicine. When I was in medical school, I liked all the rotations. That's why I chose Family Medicine as it touches on every specialty and every bodily system. It also gives me the opportunity to meet people when they are kids and follow them throughout their lives. It's hard to imagine that some of the kids I delivered early in my career are now married with kids of their own.
I treat kids and adults and can handle a variety of medical conditions. I like to involve patients in their own care, it's their life after all. I am western medicine trained so am not as familiar with the eastern/new age techniques and therapies. But I can do pediatrics, adult medicine, minor surgery, trauma and gynecology. Recently, I have developed a special interest in men's health.
I am an elder in my church and active in the choir also teaching a Bible class on Sundays. My wife and I love to travel and see new places. London is one of my favorites. I love to read, cook and spend time with friends and family. I hit the gym 2-3 nights per week and play softball in the summers. When time allows, I like to write fiction and am currently working on a novel, seemingly a life-long project.
