I speak: English
My gender: Female
Where I practice
I grew up in New Mexico and earned bachelor’s degrees in biochemistry and Spanish from New Mexico State University. I then attended the University of New Mexico School of Medicine. I completed my residency in internal medicine at Saint Joseph Hospital in Denver. I am married and have two children. I am fluent in Spanish and always enjoy the opportunity to speak it in the workplace and better serve our Spanish-speaking patients.
About my practice
I enjoy working in the hospital setting and treating acute medical problems for patients ages 16 or older. Being part of a team and working with other subspecialties allows me to deliver the high-quality care that our patients deserve. Each time I enter a patient's room, I strive to keep in mind that this person is someone’s parent, child or sibling, and I aim to treat each patient as if they were one of my family members. I want to make sure my patients come out of our encounter with a better understanding of their medical condition and a sense of comfort having me as their physician. Electronic medical records help me to see the big picture of a patient’s health, so I can make good use of our time together and answer my patient’s questions.
How I thrive
I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, whether it is indoors or outdoors. I look forward to yoga as a form of exercise and relaxation, as well as another activity that I can do with others. I like to return to New Mexico often to see family and friends. I enjoy traveling to Spain regularly, where I also have family.
