Where I practice
I am a Denver native who returned to Colorado after spending 10 years away. That time helped reinforce how much I appreciate Colorado and all that it has to offer. I have long been an advocate for mental health and this combined with my passion to help others led me to choose this profession. My 20 plus years has only served to strengthen my commitment to this work. I have a wife and a son that mean the world to me and help motivate me to always strive to learn, grow and do the best I can in each area and role in my life.
About my practice
I have been practicing as a therapist since graduate school which I started in 1994 and have been at Kaiser Permanente since 2001. I view therapy as a collaborative process in which we work together to help you move towards your goals. This can be best achieved through support, understanding, acceptance, open dialog, skills and techniques. I have a long history of working with adults dealing with issues including depression, anxiety, relationship struggles, behavioral concerns, poor esteem. I always try to meet people where they are at and employ types of therapy that will be most effective for each individual. I am very open to discuss what is working (or not) in order to adjust so that your needs have the best chance to be met.
I practice with care and concern for my client, always being as genuine and present as possible and will a desire to always learn from others and grow as a professional and a human. I work as a team with our specialists, pharmacists and others to coordinate my patients' care. My goal is to provide the most appropriate care for my patients, so they aren't spending extra time or money to get the care they deserve.
How I thrive
I try to thrive by practicing healthy balance in my life in general. This means spending quality time with my loved ones and being as present as I possibly can be. I enjoy staying active through basketball, going to the gym, hiking/walks as well as enjoying a good movie, cooking with my family and practicing much of what I teach to my clients.
