Where I practice
I was born and raised in Alabama, where I received a Bachelor of Science in biology from the University of Alabama. I then pursued my medical degree from the University of South Alabama. I completed my residency training and geriatrics fellowship at the University of Virginia. I moved to Colorado in 2008 to be closer to family and to seek a career with Kaiser Permanente Colorado. My son and daughter were born in Colorado and they are my pride and joy. I love seeing my members in their homes, whether that be in a nursing home, assisted living or in their own home. This allows me to develop a customized health plan for my patients. We all age differently and this makes geriatrics the most interesting field of medicine I can think of! I feel very honored to work with the most caring team of physicians and advanced practice providers. We truly are able to meet our members where they are, and I feel very blessed to have this opportunity every day.
About my practice
My practice is focused on providing customized care for each patient. Since we all age differently, geriatrics is not “one size fits all.” Creating a unique care plan for each person is key. It also means that each day of practice is different for me, which I find very rewarding and challenging. I get to meet many wonderful patients and the delightful caretakers who provide the day-to-day care for them. I want you and your family to help me understand what is most important to you. I find treatment plans are best when they are collaborative. I enjoy educating my patients about their health, and I believe that you are the boss when it comes to your treatment plan.
How I thrive
Striving to achieve my own good health drives me daily. I enjoy mountain biking most when it comes to outside activities. I love to camp with my children and play in the dirt! I also find seeking healthy food choices to be vital to my overall health.
