Where I practice
Growing up in an Air Force family, I moved around a lot. The experiences afforded to me as a child through my ever changing environment and "home" instilled a sense of curiosity. Specifically a curiosity for people, travel, and new experiences. Curious about the human experience I headed into nursing. In 1996 I finally settled in Boulder, where I received a degree in Biology from the University of Colorado. In 2005 I earned a Bachelor of Science in Nursing and in 2008 I earned a Master’s degree in Nursing from Regis University.
About my practice
I joined Kaiser Permanente in 2008 after completing my master’s degree at Regis University. As a western philosophy trained family medicine practitioner I am especially passionate about sports medicine, women’s health, and pediatrics. However, I also incorporate complementary medicine into my practice when the opportunity presents itself. Finally, I believe in the power of well-balanced lifestyle choices and their ability to positively impact our health.
I work as a team with our specialists, pharmacists and others to coordinate my patients' care. I offer my patients convenience and can answer their questions by email, phone, video visit or Chat with a Doc. Health is invaluable. Navigating the demands of work, family, and partnerships can be challenging. Having a partner and advocate for one's most valuable asset is essential. I see my primary role as a guide, educator, collaborator and sometimes coach when it comes to maintaining or attaining well-being.
How I thrive
I enjoy getting outside any way possible as much as possible. When enjoying the outdoors with my family I particularly enjoy hiking, swimming, camping, and traveling. When I'm able to spare time to myself I relish cycling and climbing. My creative outlet is cooking and all the more in the company of friends. My husband and I's greatest adventure yet is sharing in the experience of our two young boys.
