Kaiser Permanente provider
My gender: Male
Yes, my office is accepting new patients. May require referral.
I was born and raised in Syracuse, New York, and moved to Colorado in 2006 to take my first job in hospital medicine. It was here that I met my lovely wife and started our family with two sons and twin daughters. I became a physician because of the intellectual challenge and the opportunity to meaningfully improve people’s lives. I feel terrific when I can restore a patient to their prior level of health after an acute illness.
I chose hospital medicine because of the challenge of seeing many different types of patients with different acute medical conditions, and the opportunity to change the outcome for the better. I enjoy working as part of a team because of the opportunity to teach and continue learning. I prefer a direct communication style. I try to be as prepared as possible and have a plan in mind the moment I enter the room. However, once I enter, I listen to the patient and am very attentive so that my preconceptions can shift to allow for the best plan for that patient in that situation to take shape – a plan built on trust that takes into account the patient's values and goals. I work with our specialists, pharmacists and others to coordinate care.
I participate in our kids' elementary school activities and with nonprofit charity organizations providing aid to refugees. I enjoy all types of music, playing the guitar, reading novels and journals, hiking, running and travel.
