Where I practice
My hometown is Midland, Texas. After my freshman year of college, the optometrist that had seen me since I was 10 years old gave me a summer job because I wouldn't quit asking him questions during my eye exams. From that summer on, I have been involved in eye care in one form or another. I was used to wearing a uniform from my days as a Cub Scout on, so I sought out a Health Professions scholarship with the U.S. Air Force. Upon graduation, I entered active duty military service, serving for 20 years across the globe from Alaska to Turkey to South Korea. I enjoy experiencing all that Colorado has to offer with my wife and family.
About my practice
My experience in the military has led me to appreciate the team approach to health care. The ability to manage my patients in coordination with other providers and to access your complete patient history are some of the many aspects of the Kaiser Permanente team that I enjoy. In addition, our sense of mission appeals to this retired military doc. Instead of doing everything we could to "put bombs on target" in my last unit, the Kaiser Permanente team strives to promote a healthy community in all we do. I like to explain topics to my patients with as little jargon as possible, so you can easily understand your conditions. I listen and take time to answer your questions and concerns, and I look forward to seeing you.
How I thrive
I thrive by trying to become the best "me" that I can be. I discovered CrossFit while stationed in Alaska and have developed a love of pushing, testing and improving my personal fitness and strength. I enjoy snowboarding and riding motorcycles across the state.
