Kaiser Permanente provider
My gender: Female
Yes, my office is accepting new patients. May require referral.
I was born and raised in Atlanta, Georgia. My husband (a Kaiser Permanente cardiologist) and I decided to plant our roots in Colorado based on a scientific formula of the number of sunny days, number of establishments I can bike to from our home, and proximity to beautiful outdoor pursuits. I was first exposed to GI as I watched close family friends deal with inflammatory bowel disease. I’ve continued to have an interest in GI ever since. Fortunately, this specialty works well with a good sense of humor and I have had fantastic mentors along the way.
I am a big believer that medical care is a partnership. I will educate you, present options, review pros and cons of each strategy and then work with you to find the best plan for you. Everyone is different and needs to feel comfortable with their treatment plan. I helped develop an Inflammatory Bowel Disease team at Kaiser Permanente, involving physicians, nurses, pharmacists and physician assistants. I believe this team has really helped to improve care of our Crohn's and Ulcerative Colitis patients. While I perform endoscopies, the majority of my clinical practice is focused on treating inflammatory bowel disease.
Outside of work, I am the mom of two boys and a dog named Sherman. Our family loves camping in our little motorhome, skiing, hiking and traveling. My personal interests include riding my Peloton bike, knitting and scrapbooking.
