Andrea M. Jazbec-Lake, MD
I speak: English, Spanish
My gender: Female
Where I practice
My residency training brought me to the University of Colorado, and I never left. I grew up in Chicago and Croatia, where my parents were born. I spent all my childhood summers there with my grandparents speaking Croatian and making lifelong friends. I try to visit every summer, so my two kids can have a similar experience! In addition to my son and daughter, I live with my awesome husband and Portuguese Water Dog. I am also a breast cancer survivor since 2013. I am passionate about helping others navigate a very frightening and daunting path to survivorship!
About my practice
I love obstetrics and gynecology for its variety, its focus on prevention and because it's fun! I hope to collaborate with patients and encourage you to be an active participant in your care, while I provide evidence-based guidance. I practice open-minded but evidence-based medicine and listen closely to your concerns. I work as a team with our providers, pharmacists and others to coordinate your care. I have a special interest in female sexual dysfunction, so if this adversely affects your quality of life, please come see me. I also speak fluent Spanish and Croatian.
How I thrive
I thrive on exercise – from group classes to solitary bike rides to a regular yoga practice, and most recently, rock climbing. I try to involve my family in these endeavors. After a vigorous workout, I cook for family and friends. I am a professionally trained chef and amateur foodie. I love to read The New York Times and foreign writers, both of which expose me to other cultures and fuel my fire for travel. Travel is my favorite hobby, and I wish I could do it more. I'd love to hear about your favorite places and foods! We like to continually show our gratitude by helping others with regular volunteering in the community and abroad whenever opportunities present themselves.
