Kaiser Permanente provider
My gender: Female
Yes, my office is accepting new patients. May require referral.
I decided to become a psychologist while working in a psychiatric hospital after I completed my undergraduate degree. It felt so rewarding to be able to connect with others, and help them to find new and more effective ways to manage their emotions and behaviors. So, we packed up and moved to Denver where I obtained my Doctorate Degree from the University of Denver. We loved Colorado so much, we have not left! My husband and I have two children, both of whom love the outdoor activities here. As a family, we enjoy picnics, swimming, bike riding, and cooking family meals.
As a Behavioral Medicine Specialist, located in the Primary Care Department, I only see patients for brief intervention. I approach care from a strengths-based perspective. I truly believe that we are all striving to attain good health (even if it does not always look that way!). I believe in preventative methods in addition to developing strategies that can help us to reduce symptoms when we are already struggling. Each time someone comes in to see me, my hope is to teach new perspectives and to have him/her leave with a new strategy to try to help improve their situation.
I am a very energetic person. I enjoy being active with others, laughing as often as possible, and working to create my own happiness each and every day. I am often found in the Kaiser Permanente exercise rooms over lunch periods or out on the road, riding my bike, when I can get a few minutes away. I also really enjoy baking. Thank goodness because I have a huge sweet tooth!
